Join us in the open-air markets of Aix for our most popular package! Explore Aix’s famous open-air markets and pick out the ingredients to make our delicious 3-course meal. Lunch will be accompanied by three exceptional French wines with a guided tasting. And still have your afternoon free to continue exploring Provence!
Overview
9:30am – 11:15pm ~ In the Markets
We’ll meet underneath Aix’s city hall clock tower and then head into the famous open-air fruit and vegetable markets where we’ll introduce you to some of our favorite vendors. We’ll also be gathering fresh ingredients that we will prepare together for lunch (see menu below). While selecting ingredients, learn about the culture of French food and how locals shop and eat. We’ll swing by our favorite Pastry shop made by an award-winning pastry chef. Then we’ll take you to our favorite wine shop in town to choose three wines to taste during our meal.
11:15pm – 12:15pm ~ In the Kitchen
We invite you to our kitchen in a charming loft located right off of the market square to prepare our lunch. In this mini-cooking class, we’ll teach you some basic knife skills as well as how to prepare a simple and delicious lunch that you can easily recreate at home. For those that don’t feel comfortable with a knife, no problem as we invite you to have a glass of wine, relax, and enjoy the friendly conversation.
Please Note: This is a mini-cooking class. Those that are looking for a longer, more intensive, and more technical cooking class with a professional French chef, should instead sign up for our Gourmet Cooking Class with French Chef.
12:15pm – 2:30pm ~ Bon Appétit!
Sit down, relax, and enjoy the meal you have helped create! Throughout the meal, you will have the opportunity to learn about the world of French wine, including food and wine pairing, the French wine classification system, some amazing wine stories, and much more!

What People Say About Best of Aix
People have great things to say about WineInProvence and the Best of Aix wine package.
We met our 2 hosts from Wine in Provence, and had a great tour through through the alleyways of Aix en Provence including, an Olive oil tasting, and then onto Fruit, veg markets and wine shopping. It was wonderful to be able to ask questions about local produce in English.
Wine, french dishes, local atmosphere, chatting with other guests from other places if you are interested in either (or all) of them, I strongly recommend this. I myself would love to come back and join the tour again.
