A 4th of July Toast

Happy 4th of July all our friends back in the States!

This Independence Day, it might be amusing to give guests another option next to the coolers of beer by incorporating wine into the festive barbecue. Madeira, a fortified wine from Portugal, would be an excellent choice. Even Thomas Jefferson would agree.

A little Madeira will go a long way. The concentration and richness of the wine allows you to savor it. It also pairs well with many types of food – I dare you to try it with your 4th of July burgers and be the same again!
