Best Macaroons in the World are in Aix-en-Provence
No need for competitions, judges, or debate. It’s over and the verdict is unanimous. The best macaroons in the world can be found right here in Aix-en-Provence, in the Place des Precheurs market, at a little stand called “Les Macarons de Caroline.” When we first tasted these, we were in heaven. So delicate, so fluffy and so full of intense and incredible flavor. Words simply do not describe the level of joy and pleasure one has when biting into these little bits of heaven.
We are WineinProvence were so enamored with these treats, and their wonderful creator, that visiting Caroline is now a regular part of our market tours. At just 26 years old, Caroline is already making a name for herself in the local markets around Provence and at her shop just outside of Aix-en-Provence. I have seriously considered trying to start importing these little gems around the world because they are just that good.
With flavors like speculoos, orange confit, lemon meringue, caramel salted butter, and tiramisu, it becomes a very difficult choice when standing at stand. For me though, the favorite has to be the raspberry vanilla. Using fresh, seasonal raspberries, the flavor combination is so intense and vibrant that you wonder how you were able to enjoy any other macaroon before. To say this place is worth a visit is the understatement of the century.

I looked up the name of the bakery afterward and apparently, I’m not the only one who feels that way. […]
