L’Epicerie is a lovely little spot in Place des Trois Ormeaux in Aix. It means “the grocery” in French and it is set up to be part high-end food boutique and part gastronomic restaurant.

On Friday night, we hosted a group of nine corporate clients for a wine pairing dinner at L’Epicerie. It was a fantastic evening, complete with five tapas-style courses paired with five delicious wines. A personal favorite pairing of mine was the Chateau Lacoste “Blanc de Blancs” with spoons of scallops over ratatouille topped with panceta. Our guests had some great wine questions too, so there was lively conversation and enthusiastic tasting until 1:30 in the morning! Prost!
